Keith McLean's Aunt: Sandy Woolford

As some you know, I lost my aunt to MS in March of this year. My aunt, Sandy Woolford, bravely battled MS for over 40 years. And to her memory and to help others afflicted with MS, like Steve's sister Sheila, this year we are promoting a charity golf outing to promote MS.

My cousin, Dabney Wolford Blackwell, conveyed to me that she wanted to express her gratitude to the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National MS Society.

Participation in MS City to Shore Bike Ride

Several members of their extended family have decided to participate in the City to Shore bike ride on September 27th. They have formed a team called Sandy’s Saddlers. Scott and Kyle and two of Dabney’s brothers will be riding 75 Miles, while Dabney, Heather, Courtney, a niece, and two sister-in-laws will be riding 42 miles.

The basis of our appreciation of the MS Society began with the many years they provided educational resources about how to best live with the disease. But the real beneficence was during the final months of my aunt’s illness, when this organization truly provided real assistance and care/support to her. They also made available case workers who provided significant emotional support to the family. And, of course, all of this is in addition to their funding of core research to manage and cure the disease. Ultimately, we really believe in this organization and the good work that they do.

I ask you to please visit my aunt Sandy’s Saddlers web page to learn more about their team and to make a donation, large or small, at: MS bike ride: Sandy's Saddlers (Please feel free to click on any of the Blackwell's on the team list).

Sincerely,
Keith McLean
